Rahul Bose’s Plea

Rahul Bose

As far as Bollywood is concerned, the difference between any other election and the general elections of 2009 has been that many leading Bollywood celebrities have come forward to request people to vote. The campaigns first by Aamir Khan and then by Karan Johar’s film have become immensely popular with a lot been written about them already. Similarly, others like Shahrukh Khan and Kunal Kapoor were seen on camera requesting people to exercise their democratic right.

But, making such a request standing in front of the camera and doing the same by meeting people personally may be two different experiences altogether. And, probably most celebrities from Bollywood agree that the latter seems to be slightly more difficult.Still, one person who has taken this task upon himself is Rahul Boses. The actor has gone from house to house in South Mumbai asking people to vote in these general elections.Rahul Bose, who on previous many occasions has been associated with many social causes, said that he chose South Mumbai to run his campaign since in last few elections the voter turnout in this constituency has been as low as

Rahul said that he had met many people, who had responded positively to his request and told him that rectifying their earlier mistake, they will go out to vote this time around. It needs to be noted here that Rahul Bose’s campaign is no ordinary campaign where he just stands in front of people’s entrance for a few seconds. Rahul Bose is said to be spending quality time with each of the household he visits, trying to change their overall perception that voting is nothing but a waste of time and energy.Hopefully, Rahul’s hard work will pay rich dividends and we will see more people at polling booths in this posh area of South Mumbai.
