Amitabh Bachchan

Guess what is the sign of a successful film? Believe or not, according to Amitabha Batchchan, a sign of a successful film is that he shouldn’t like it.You may not believe it but it’s a fact that when Mr. Bachchan first saw one of his biggest blockbusters of 1980’s Lawaris, he wasn’t very impressed by the final product. Mr. Bachchan, at that point of time had even suggested to his friend Prakash Mehra, who was the director of Lawaris that he wants some portions of the film to be re-shot. Amitabh Bachchan revealed this in the latest post on his blog.

Mr. Bachchan said that though he raised his doubts about what Prakash Mehra had shot, the director ignored Mr. Bachchans suggestions, since he was convinced with what he had made and therefore did not incorporate the changes, which Mr. Bachchan had suggested. Mr. Bachchan further says that Mr Mehra was eventually proved right when on release Lawaris was declared a super hit. This in turn, writes Mr. Bachchan made him realize that his own knowledge about film making is nothing but a big zero.Mr. Bachchan says that it was probably at that point of time that he understood the fact that film making and direction were not his cup of tea and he would rather do well by limiting himself and sticking just to acting.Mr. Bachchans doubts about his capabilities behind the camera actually proved to be true. You may recall that though he never tried his hand on direction, his ambitious venture as a producer in form of ABCL proved to be the biggest mistake of his life due to which he also suffered heavy losses.
