Amrita Arora's dream honeymoon in Europe
'Matches are made in heaven!'
How perfect is this saying in the case of the recently wedded Bollywood lass Amrita Arora. After a three day wedding ceremony, Amrita and her hubby Shakeel Ladhak have set off on the blissful path of a married life. Bollywood Hungama came across these images that shout out the idyllic life these two are currently enjoying.
Amrita and Shakeel are back from their three-week honeymoon in Europe. The ever shimmering lass describes her honeymoon as nothing but a fantastic road trip. The couple had originally planned to go to Mexico, but had to change the venue because of the civil strife there. The trip, which was entirely planned by Shakeel, started from Barcelona to Spain, Paris, Italy, Capri, Venice, Florence and London.
Amrita, who is known for being a shopoholic was for a change subdued as the trip was aimed more at exploring the cities and locals they visited. Though most of the destinations are prime shopping spots, Amrita managed to hold her resolute, and by the look of the images, we are certain that she enjoyed herself.
One thing is for sure, at the end of their honeymoon, the couple is soaring on cloud nine and we at Bollywood.com wish them all the luck for the years to comeShah Rukh
Shah Rukh and Co to seek out new Bollywood starlet at IPL
Cape Town, April 16 (IANS) Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty will be among those watching all the women attending the Indian Professional League games in South Africa over the next five weeks to find the newest Bollywood starlet.
The Indian Professional League has announced a Bollywood movie role for one lucky South African lass as it prepares to launch the five-week Twenty20 extravaganza here on Saturday with an inaugural double header.
The search for a young South African woman with the potential to take Bollywood by storm was announced here Thursday by IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi and Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Shilpa Shetty and Preity Zinta, all having stakes in the IPL teams.
The lucky South African IPL fan with star quality stands to win a role in a Bollywood movie, 50,000 rands in cash, a business class trip to India and other prizes in the 2009 tournament's Miss Bollywood SA competition.
"We're looking for someone who has the star quality to stand out in a crowd, probably without even trying that hard. It's that special, almost indefinable, quality that makes someone a star more than a beauty queen that we are looking for," Modi said.
"IPL matches with their mix of fun and excitement are an excellent environment to identify the kind of person who is a natural stand-out in a big crowd."
"Star searches like this are a really great way to find people who may never even have thought that they have what it takes to really make it big," Shah Rukh said.
"The heart of our idea is to search the crowd at IPL matches for someone who has the attitude and appearance that automatically draws the eye. It will be the kind of person who is not necessarily showing off for the camera, but who can mesmerise even total strangers," he said.
A total of 50 winners will be chosen from the crowds at every one of the eight venues around the country that are to host IPL matches. Winners will be shown on the big screen at every match during the second five-minute break.
There will be one finalist per match, identified with the help of TV producers who will have cameras scanning the crowds. IPL matches are being played in Cape Town, East London, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Bloemfontein, Kimberley, Johannesburg and Pretoria.
One finalist from each venue will be chosen, leaving eight winners to be hosted and feted at The Wanderers in Johannesburg at the final of the IPL 2009 tournament on 24 May. The ultimate winner will be announced during the final.
IPL fans worldwide will also be able to cast their votes for the winner via the IPL website.
The IPL is also set to announce an eight-million rand educational project here on FridaySalman to clash
If all goes well, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will come face to face on July 3. The clash is purely professional, what with their respective films - SRK's DULHA MIL GAYA and Salman's WANTED - hitting the screens on that Friday.
DULHA MIL GAYA producer Viveck Vaswani is eyeing 3rd July because "July 4 is Independence Day in America and Shah Rukh enjoys a massive following there. I would like to capitalize on the Independence Day weekend," Viveck tells me. Which means DULHA MIL GAYA will clash with Salman Khan's WANTED. "If Boney Kapoor says he's committed for 3rd July and requests me to shift my film to another week, I will do so. But so far there haven't been any talks," Viveck clarifies.
DULHA MIL GAYA is far from complete. Reportedly, SRK's portions remain to be filmed. "The talkie is complete. Just one qawwali remains to be shot, which can be included at the last minute too," Viveck reveals. He also rubbishes rumours that SRK has delayed the film. "Shah Rukh had informed me at the very outset of his busy schedule and the possibility of the film getting delayed. The delay is not because of him, it's because of me. An important schedule went haywire when my father passed away. Later, Shah Rukh suffered an injury on my sets, hence things have been pushed forward."
Meanwhile, DULHA MIL GAYA continues to remain in news. The latest is, Anil Ambani's Big Pictures has relinquished the rights of the project. True? "Yes, they have. The withdrawal was due to re-strategizing the company, given the current economic scenario. But I'll offer them the film once it's ready. If they want to pick up the rights then, it's okay. Else, the money invested by Big will be refunded at the time of release," he states.
Anushka Sharma loses chance to do Arundhati remake
It's touted as the biggest hit in the history of Telugu cinema. And now Arundhati is all set to be remade into Hindi. Many producers including Ghajini's Madhu Mantena were vying for the Hindi remake rights. But the producer of the Telugu version M. Shyam Prasad Reddy has decided to remake the film in Hindi.Sonu Sood who played the main antagonist in the Telugu film and is all set to encore the same part in Hindi, confirms these developments.
Confirming these developments Sood says, "I'm excited because we all worked very hard on making the Telugu original something special. Lots of producers wanted to remake it in Hindi. But now the original producer has decided to go for it. The Hindi Arundhati will be far more expensive and polished. We start shooting in June. "Sood has already started preparing for the part. "The Hindi version will have to be severely revised."The remakes expert Priyadarshan was approached to direct Arundhati in Hindi. Apparently Priyan has no time at such short notice."And the original director Kodi Ramkrishna can't understand Hindi. So we're probably going with a guy named Rahul who did all the special effects in Tamil."
And now for the most crucial question. Who plays the central role of Arundhati in this woman-dominated film? Though no one is willing to commit to any name sources reveal that the makers of Arundhati were very keen to sign Anushka Sharma who starred with Shah Rukh Khan in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.Says the source, "They needed someone strong robust young and determined and very North Indian as the lead in Hindi. They really wanted Anushka Sharma. She was perfect. But the producer was under the impression that she's under contract with Yashraj Films and unable to do any outside film. Now they might settle for the actress who played the lead in the Telugu Arundhati in Hindi. Coincidentally her name too is Anushka."Surprisingly, Arjan (Fashion) Bajwa who played the romantic lead in Arundhati is not part of the Hindi remake. When questioned, Arjan says, "They haven't asked me. Even if they had I wouldn't do it. Have you seen what has been done to my role in the Telugu film?"
