Meri Padosan
Some films are made without any proper intention. Without any prime reason, money is spent on dull star cast and pale script. Meri Padosan by director Prakash Saini and writer Taarun Takshaay also falls in this useless category. The film lacks in perfect screenplay. It starts off well but gets lost in the middle, end is also too sloppy and leads one to wonder why the film has been made. It is neither funny nor serious, with what purpose it has been made is clueless. ‘Meri Padosan’ is very boring and if somehow you get a ticket to watch the film, you will feel like stepping out of the theatre as soon as you can. The makers have only showed their amateurish in dealing with the poor subject like ‘Meri Padosan’.
The film talks about Viju (Sanjay Mishra), a middle class clerk and his wife Kavita (Sadhika Randhawa) whose happily married life get disturbed with the entry of his new neighbors, Shyam Gopal Varma (Sarwar Ahuja) an aspiring filmmaker and his two buddies Prem [Snehal Dabhi], a media promoter and Aslam [Khyali], a private bank employee. These three friends’ loud quarrels have taken the peace of Viju and Kavita. Every night the couple had a sleepless night due to their loud fight. When Shyam one day come across a TV ad announcing about a contest of a ‘Real Life Film’, Shyam rushed to the channel office to join the contest. On reaching there he came to know that there are 500 other competitors. What subject to deal with now becomes the prime question before Shyam. Suddenly the story that strikes his mind is the real life happenings of his neighbor, Viju and Kavita. When Shyam look at the next door couple engaged in high physical affection, he at the very moment decided to make film based on their life story without their knowledge. What chaos creates while filming forms the rest of the story.Speaking about performances, Sanjay Mishra played his part well, Sadhika Randhawa was tolerable, Sarwar Ahuja was horrible, Aslam not at all promising, Heena Tasleem was a waste, Mushtaq Khan was just okay. Music is a torture. Prakash Saini’s direction is a great flop.On the whole, ‘Meri Padosan’ can be treated a lower grade film, an absolute flop show and a huge box office loss.
