There has been much hype over Shahrukh Khan’s decision to return to India, leaving the fortunes of his IPL team in balance, to fulfill his social and moral responsibility of casting his vote. People back home consider it as a great gesture on part of King Khan that he returned to Mumbai all the way from South Africa for this one reason onlyBut, now people are asking whether Shahrukh Khan really came back just to cast his vote?
Not really. Sources say that his decision to cast his vote was just one of the reasons to return from South Africa and that too, as they put it, that was not the main reason. Contrary to whatever Shahrukh has been saying in this regard until now, there are reports that he has returned to India to perform at a show to be held at the wedding ceremony of nephew of a businessman Kanti Govani. Shahrukh Khan is said to have been paid a sum of Rs. 3 Cr for this performance.
Shahrukh is said to have used the excuse of casting his vote to come back to India. In fact, those close to Kanti Govani point out that the dates of wedding of Govani’s nephew was only finalized according to the convenience of Shahrukh Khan so that he could perform his stage show at this occasion. But, what his fans fail to understand is why does Shahrukh had to do such a show in the first place. Is he so short of money that he has to now depend on such shows to run his household or is he using this extra source of income to run his IPL team But all said and done there is nothing wrong if Shahrukh performs at weddings. We have seen what happened to yesteryear stars who didn’t secure their future. They died in penury and none from the so called film fraternity came forward to bail them out. So if Shahrukh is killing two birds with a single stone, one shouldn’t feel jealous.
Shahrukh Khan is taking a break from IPL matches and coming to India to cast his vote in the coming Lok Sabha elections. You and I may find it as just another ordinary exercise but probably Shahrukh Khan doesn’t, who will be taking a break from his IPL team and return to India, just to cast his vote in the general elections.Though the king Khan is not one who takes a keen interest in politics and therefore had refused to campaign for any political party even though all his friends and well-wishers had requested him to do so, but when it comes to casting his vote, as a citizen, he feels that it is both his right and his duty to cast his vote. Apart from his children, Shahrukh Khan’s wife Gauri will also accompany her husband in his trip back to India, as she also wants to use her democratic right and cast her vote.
And its not just the dirty politics in India, which big Bollywood stars like Shahrukh Khan are trying to avoid, but it seems that they want to totally stay away from this game at least. So, when all the three major Bollywood stars, including Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Shlpa Shetty, were approached by the African National Congress to campaign for their candidates in South Africa, all three refused very politely saying they had no interest in politics.Since they are so keen to vote, Shahrukh Khan and his wife have no choice but to return to India and cast their vote, because as per the provisions of the Indian constitution only diplomats of various embassy’s have the luxury of casting their vote from outside India. Now, while taking excuse of casting his vote, whether Shahrukh Khan is taking break from IPL or from his Kolkata Knight Riders team, which is in bad shape, losing in the tournament and gripped by all the controversies in the world, is anyone’s guess.
